Since 2012, We Banjo 3 has toured the U.S. several times a year, building a passionate and loyal following. The Galway, Ireland quartet––comprised of two sets of brothers, Enda & Fergal Scahill and Martin & David Howley––have fine-tuned their knack for seamlessly converging the shared and varied traditions of Americana, Bluegrass, and Celtic music with pop-sensible songcraft to create a truly unique signature sound.

On tour, WB3 continually push musical boundaries while maintaining an unwavering devotion to the essential audience experience. For the upcoming December tour dates, the band hosts festive holiday shows––featuring performances of traditional holiday tunes from both Ireland and from the U.S. (in addition to plenty of the fan-favorite original compositions that have made them such a beloved live band).  The complete list of dates for WB3’s “A Winter Wonderful” tour is included below.  Tickets and info available now at www.webanjo3.com.

Partridge received national and international recognition in early 2018 when he released his first official full-length release, Cotton Fields and Blood For Days, to rave reviews and substantial airplay on Americana radio. It landed Partridge a lengthy feature in The Bitter Southerner and the album was chosen to be one of their “Top 30 albums of 2018.”  Ranging from the earthy to the surreal, from the spiritual light to the depths of depression, Partridge draws listeners in with a combination of southern gothic storytelling, dark humor, and gripping intensity.

Partridge was on tour in the Netherlands and Belgium in November of 2018 when he met and bonded with David Ford, who says, “By the time you’ve witnessed ten thousand men take to the stage with an acoustic guitar to sing about their feelings, you can easily get to the impression that whether magnificent or mediocre they’re all to some degree just recycling the schtick of Bob Dylan, James Taylor or any number of whiskey-sodden bluesmen. Then one rainy night in the Netherlands I saw Abe Partridge take to the stage with an acoustic guitar and it felt like the first time anybody ever thought to try it. He didn’t just sing his songs, he set fire to them. It was brutal and tender and smart and angry and funny and brilliantly, uniquely authentic. I saw it as a magnificent reminder that great songs, delivered with honest intensity were what first made me want to do any of this in the first place.”

When Partridge is not writing or touring, he is creating his folk art paintings, which now hang in art galleries around the Southeast and in the private collections of Tyler Childers, Mike Wolfe (American Pickers) and Rick Hirsch (Wet Willie). He painted the cover art for Charlie Parr’s, Last Of The Better Days Ahead (Smithsonian Folkways). His monthly subscription-based art club has sustained him (and his wife and 3 children) during the Covid 19 pandemic. American Songwriter Magazine said, “Abe Partridge has established himself as one of the most respected songwriters and visual folk artists in the southeast.”

Partridge has recently resumed touring, including a recent “Artist Spotlight” at the legendary Bluebird Café and a showcase for his art and music at the 2021 FinsterFest.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ.—Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center presents guitarist Stephane Wrembel’sDjango New Orleans” beginning on Thursday, November 4 through Sunday, November 7, with two shows each evening at 7:30 pm and 9:30 p.m.  Dizzy’s Club is located in Frederick P. Django New Orleans” pays homage to legendary composer/guitarist, Django Reinhardt, blending the traditional sounds of New Orleans with the voices of gypsy jazz guitars with the group performing traditional New Orleans songs with a Reinhardt touch, and traditional Gypsy songs with New Orleans sounds. From swing to second lines, “Django New Orleans” is a magical night of music.  The performers for the shows at Dizzy’s Club include: Stéphane Wrembel, guitar; Bria Skonberg, trumpet/vocals; Daisy Castro, violin; Joe Correia, sousaphone; Scott Kettner, drums; David Langlois, washboard; Nick Driscoll, clarinet/soprano saxophone; and Josh Kaye, guitar.

Stephane Wrembel is one of the most highly regarded guitarists in the world specializing in the style of Reinhardt; he learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside. He has had a remarkable career, having toured the U.S, France, UK, India, Nigeria, and more. He has released16 albums under his name and the nom de plume, The Django Experiment with the most recent installment in the series, The Django Experiment VI.  His original compositions have been featured in the Woody Allen movies Vicki Cristina Barcelona and Midnight in Paris (“Bistro Fada”). In 2019, Wrembel released the highly regarded Django L’Impressionniste, featuring 17 of Reinhardt’s preludes for solo guitar, followed by a book of his transcriptions in 2021.  Since 2003, Wrembel has produced the Django a Gogo Festival, bringing together some of the finest musicians in the world to celebrate the gypsy jazz style of guitar to perform in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and The Town Hall.

Jason Olaine, V.P. Programming for JALC, comments, “’Django New Orleans’ is a downhome party meets a high-end listening experience, as Stephane organically blends the music of Django Reinhardt and classic New Orleans repertoire together with just the right amount of understated flash and acoustic funk. The second-line spirit of Congo Square – replete with tuba, acoustic bass, horns, washboard/percussion and bass drum — has a French flair as Stephane’s tasteful (yet pyrotechnic) acoustic guitar work is augmented by an equally virtuosic violin and additional guitar. ‘Django New Orleans’ is the best of both worlds.”
