ATHENS, GA—Pinky Doodle Poodle, one of the most popular bands in the current Athens, GA music scene, is taking their intense, high energy and fun on the road with a string of shows in the Southeast, including a performance at The Flagpole Music Awards show at the historic Morton Theatre in Athens on June 23^rd.

Guitarist George and vocalist/bass guitarist Yuria formed as a duo in Tokyo in the summer of 2008, touring with a support drummer, and released their first maxi single.  By fall of 2009, they released their first EP in Europe and toured the UK, France, and Belgium. In 2011 they released their 2nd EP in Europe and toured Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, and Italy and Belgium, building a solid fan base.

In 2012, the band was contacted by Robby Takac (Goo Goo Dolls) and signed to his Good Charamel Records.  In the fall of 2012, the band recorded at GCR Audio in Buffalo and began playing their first U.S. shows, including Music Is Art festival in Buffalo.  In 2014, the band released their first full-length album, Pinky Doodle Poodle on Good Charamel Records quickly followed by a 2^nd release, Inside Is Out, in 2015, in support of their first U.S. Tour. More releases and lots of U.S. touring followed.

In May of 2018, PDP moved to Athens, Georgia, and rapidly developed a loyal and loving following in a town acclaimed for its legendary music scene.  Now joined by Patrick Ferguson (Five-Eight) on drums, PDP’s power pop,hard rock driven is by the mesmerizing guitar work from both George and Yuria…George slaying on his Gibson Starburst…propelled by one of the most respected drummers in Athens.

Pinky Doodle Poodle will tour the Southeast this summer in the hopes that George and Yurias’ visas are renewed in August.  Fans should catch them while they can.
