HAYSFEST, A CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF PAUL HAYS, AT LIVE WIRE MUSIC ATHENS ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 7, TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE PAUL HAYS SCHOLARSHIP FUND

HAYSFEST INCLUDES LIVE MUSIC, BBQ, AND TRIBUTES FROM FRIENDS AND FAMILY

HaysFest, a memorial and fundraiser to celebrate the life of the late Paul Hays, will be held at Live Wire Music Hall, 227 W. Dougherty St, Athens, GA, on Saturday, August 7th at 8 p.m.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Paul Hays Scholarship Fund for outstanding MIS students at Terry College of Business at UGA.  Performers at HaysFest include: heralded singer/songwriter, Ken Will Morton; singer/songwriter, Jordan Youngquist; Americana trio Hunter Blalock & The Sad Machine; and 60s/70s funk cover band, Garden Variety. Advance ticket holders will be treated to a BBQ sandwich, chips, and sides courtesy of Sam’s House BBQ of Carrollton, GA. Tickets are $15 in advance for general admission (plus fees and taxes) or $20 at the door.  Tables may be purchased with seating in multiples of 2 for $25 per seat (plus fees and taxes). Paul Hays was a beloved friend to many and an outstanding member of the Athens Business community.  He passed away from complications due to Covid 19 on February 24, 2021.  Born on March 15, 1962, in Minnesota, he attended the University of Minnesota. In 1989 he moved to Athens, Georgia, to further his education in the Ph.D. program in Management Information Systems at University of Georgia. He was a computer expert and left UGA to start Athens Technology Partners, which he ran until his death. He was an active and valued member of the Athens social and business community, involved in BNI, Synergy, and YPN. He was known for his intelligence, generosity, loyalty and his extreme love of reading and travel. Paul will be most remembered for his many thoughtful and kind acts.

Funds generated by HaysFest, including subsequent donations from solicitation and marketing, will be matched by Nina M. Norum and Ronald M. Hays up to $50,000.
